Sunday, April 9 a fire broke out at the Pelron Chemical Company in the Chicago suburbs at 47th Street and Joliet Road in southwest suburban McCook. The fire started in a lab. Two workers, who were in a warehouse, smelled the smoke and tried to put the fire out, but unsuccessfully. Several people who live not far from the factory were asked to leave their homes in precaution, but lately were allowed to return back. Of course, people in the surrounding area, as well as in Chicago, were worried about the fire, but the fire department says no hazardous readings were found. Investigation is being carried out.
