A number of dead animals have been found at the Kickapoo Forest Preserve within a hundred feet of each other, which caused suspicions that the territory is poisoned. The police has found two dogs, 12 raccoons and an opossum, all without any visible injuries, but half of them bleeding from nose and mouth. As the animals were collected 200 yards from the Little Calumet River, which runs through the preserve, the situation might be threatening. These days a poison control centre starts a "bio surveillance" program just for Illinois. It monitors for any "suspicious animal activity," which includes clusters of animal deaths, in Illinois on behalf of the state government. Tests are scheduled to be carried out later this week.
