On Wednesday people from all over the Chicago area gathered together to criticize the state of air in the city and tell the Environmental Protection Agency they don’t want to breathe dirty air anymore. Some spoke about the measures that should be taken, others – about what comes out when people breathe dirty air – as it is known that soot increase risk of heart disease, stroke, fertility problems, asthma and lung cancer. EPA are currently discussing law that will lower limits by up to 50 percent and help protect the environment, so all the opinions and proposals will be discussed and taken into consideration. The final EPA rule will be out in September.
