In order to carry out a massive renovation project, CTA Brown Line has to close it’s stations for some time. The reason for renovation is simple - growing demand for brown line trains. They say that because of the great number of passengers at such stations as Southport, Diversey and Armitage there was just not enough room there, which made the stations really dangerous. The first two stations to close for up to six months are Kedzie and Rockwell. The result of the renovation will be longer platforms to accommodate longer trains. Eventually 18 stations from Kimball to Chicago will be getting overhauls. The CTA said eight bus lines service the area affected by Brown Line construction. With 15 stations of 18 closing temporarily at different points, the project will impact customers across the line
