The 87-foot Christmas tree at Daley Plaza is now lighting up the downtown sky. With the flip of a switch, Mayor Daley will lit the tree just after 5 p.m. on Friday at the 92nd Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. The towering tree, made of 130 balsam firs, is decorated with hundreds of thousands of lights. The tree is the centerpiece for the 10th Annual Christkindlmarket, an open-air arena of dozens of storefronts patterned after the Nuremburg Christmas market of 1545. Visitors can see both the tree and the market for free until December 22nd
